Matt Brindy Brind took first place in Russia and is now the World's greatest Freestyle best-est spinney whirly in-the-air type rider of a mountainboard on Earth in the world for 2012! Hurrah!
Well done to all others too, notably silver to lovely Joe Dickson and bronze for Anton Shalamentsev from Yekaterinburg. Word.
Here's a nice pic of them by Brindy's other half Lei (totally stolen off Facebook yohoho :)

Pretty sure media coverage will materialise soon :)
Next? go to Mountainboard.ru (via google translate) to see the amazing Freestyle carousel, opening on August 4th near Moscow. Jealous.
The famous mega freesports park was a smash hit once again at Camp Bestival in Dorset. Mick Kirkman, Ben Tweedie, James Wanklyn and more totally smashed it.
Check out Andy Rolfe's blue sky photos and a nice write-up of what went down (& up) on Rem Central now!
Now go to Vimeo to see Theo Acworth's sick vid and watch them crazy monkeys fly.

On a more personal bloggy note (great phrase), i was not in Moscow or the Isle of White, but out for a saturday solo sesh in my local Kings Wood...
To set the scene: i recently got Final Cut Pro, a film editing app thing that is the shiz apparently and have been wanting to add that particular arrow (film-making) to my quiver of creative outlets.
So i took my little snappit as usual but this time put it on video mode and took loadsa shots on my first 3 or 4 warm-up runs: pressing rec, running back up, stopping, riding, walking, hanging it in trees n that.
After a fun but tiring solid hour i gave up filming and carried on riding properly, making the most of the pleasant weather.
Anyway, after spending that evening playing with the editing software, Bob's yer uncle, i made my first ever vid (not including 'Magic Box', a stop-frame animation i made on Dad's camcorder in like 1987 haha).
It's pants (expect it to be really bad then you may be pleasantly surprised) but still thought i'd share it as hopefully it'll motivate me to make more and progression is fun to witness first hand, hey?
And who knows, i may even enter the ATB Junkies Film Festival this year as i'm already thinking about making something considerably better.
And i especially see how soundtrack drastically changes things! the mellow acoustic song i originally had got thrown out for some good ol' fashioned swear-ey calypso hiphop funky thrash punk popvid shiz ;-)
Expect motion-sickness-inducing amateur film-making of some easy woodland riding with my stoopid mug in your face lol
Still, a million faults aside, not too bad for a day's efforts, and i promise to film other people next time
(cringe...)
cheeeeeers

That is ace - nowt wrong with a bit of self filming! Fun, fun, fun!
ReplyDeletecheers Ade! also promise to film more interesting riding lol
